FORMATTING; PRINT SET-UP
Palm Publishers formats your book and gets it print-ready for:
1. Electronic Publishing: Formatting the eBook for electronic sales;
2. Paperback Publishing: Formatting the paperback book as a print-ready Adobe Acrobat .pdf file for paperback printing.
Palm Publishers handles formatting for each book that it publishes. Palm Publishers charges $125.00 per book for book formatting. Title page, copyright page, pagination, spacing, blocking, font-selection, spell-checking, and punctuation review are included. Editing and grammar-checking are not included.
Palm Publishers gives you an electronic proof copy to review - you have 14 days to review it and make any further changes/corrections that you wish.
If you wish to save money and do your own formatting, remember the following:
1. Formatting must be in Adobe acrobat .pdf file format;
2. When selecting a print font for your book, first make sure that Palm Publishers is printing paperbacks in that font. Check with DeHart for fonts.
3. Be sure there is enough room in the margins for binding and any trim cuts
that may need to be done. Check with DeHart for margins;
4. Insert blank pages wherever you want them to appear;
5. IMPORTANT: Remember to print a proof of your document and make any necessary
corrections before submitting your files for printing. That includes:
A. Editing;
B. Spell-Checking;
C. Grammar-checking;
D. Punctuation;
E. Blocking; and,
F. Visual look.
NOTE: Please do not try to save the formatting charge unless you have had experience formatting, and are truly submitting your file to Palm Publishers in absolutely print-ready form. Palm Publishers assumes no liability or responsibility for a book that is not properly formatted.
